President's welcome letter
Dear Delegates of the World Bank Group,
It is my distinct privilege to welcome you to KAMUN ’27. My name is Soliman Arabeyyat, a high school senior serving as your Committee President. Throughout our sessions, we will address some of the most complex structural dilemmas facing modern international finance. Our primary focus in this research packet centers on a critical question of systemic regulation: Should governments and central monetary authorities bail out failing financial institutions during acute financial crises?
This issue strikes at the very core of global financial stability, public ethics, and economic efficiency. When major banking institutions face sudden collapse, world leaders are forced into an extraordinary dilemma: deploy billions in public funds to stabilize private entities or allow market forces to clear insolvent firms at the risk of triggering domino-style financial contagion and severe global recession. As representatives in the World Bank, your goal is to evaluate these historical precedents, examine the trade-offs between short-term systemic preservation and long-term moral hazard, and draft constructive policy frameworks for future crisis interventions.
I encourage each delegate to engage with this material through rigorous analytical research, diplomatic flexibility, and a commitment to sustainable economic governance. I look forward to presiding over a thoughtful, dynamic, and productive debate.
Warm regards,
Soliman Arabeyyat
President of the World Bank, KAMUN ’27
