President's welcome letter
Dear Delegates,
Welcome to The Security Council of KAMUN’27! I am Raya Qubain, a 12th grader at King’s Academy, and the President of The Security Council.
In the Security Council, delegates are able to see the closest simulation of many of the real-life political decisions that are taken about our world. Since the Security Council is one of the most powerful UN bodies, it is imperative to understand how it works to understand modern politics. Also, it’s quite an exciting committee to be in because of the heated debate and intense topics!
The Security Panel was the MUN committee that I knew was meant for me, because it taught me how important it was to use my voice and make it heard. The Security Council’s energetic AD-HOC debate style makes it exciting, and teaches you to advocate for your stance because you really have to give all your passion to be heard. I believe that such committees are the best to be part of, and I hope you will see this too.
Finally, I cannot wait to see what you all will come up with in this committee. It is an honour for me to lead The Security Council this year, and I ask you all to put your best foot forward during the debate and do your best to make this committee unforgettable.
Best regards,
Raya Qubain
President of The Security Council
